Well to Well connects Oasis Church Chicago with established organizations who are committed to seeing Chicago restored through families, schools, and communities.
About
Well to Well comes alongside and builds relationships with already existing organizations. We equip and readily support what is already happening in Chicago. As the Lord gave us this vision, we knew this only comes from the overflow of a healthy church. We focus on holistically serving families, schools, and communities in Chicago.
As we settled into these areas, we connected with three organizations, Safe Families, GRIP, and Chicago City Life Center to launch our church into caring for Chicago well. Our dream does not stop with these three organizations, but to develop deep and impactful relationships with an entire web of organizations we feel led to connect with. As we steward these few well, we are hopeful that the Lord will entrust us to steward more. We want to connect well, care well, and invest well.
Well to Well fulfills the call of Oasis to connect others to God's presence by investing in Chicago, God’s City. We love and build His church first and from the overflow of the church, we will see a city where the family is re-established, the school system is flourishing , and the community is restored.
Ezekiel 47:12
Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.
Family
We believe in seeing the family unit being re-established. Children safe, mothers well, fathers present, and Jesus at the center.
Safe Families
“Safe Families for Children is a family preservation movement motivated by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion to keep children safe and families together.
We bring church and community together, mobilizing an army of volunteers to advocate for vulnerable children and socially isolated families. Our goal is to grow a national movement of change agents passionate about protecting children and preserving families in communities across the nation and the world.”
What We Do
Our liaison will help connect you to Safe Families and figure out how you can become apart of this movement. This could look like:
- Becoming a Safe Family host to house children
- Being a “Family Friend” to those hosting by Babysitting and coming alongside host families
- Being a driver to bring children from homes to host families within Oasis
All of these roles require an application + training process
Schools
GRIP Outreach For Youth
We believe in seeing the school system flourishing. “Exists to invest in the lives of Chicago youth through Christ-centered, Life-on-Life relationships. To see the lives of students transformed who then will positively impact their communities, churches, and families.”
What We Do
Our liaison will help connect you to GRIP/ SLAM and guide you through the application and interview process.
SLAM – Every Monday students from all over the city meet to engage in a high energy sports and teambuilding outreach that combnes creative games with Bible teaching and time for one-on-one and small group discussion.
GRIP the School – Provides opportunities to connect with students at Cookies & Convos, a discussion group that meets during students’ lunch periods. Relationships of trust are built and students are invited to SLAM where they’ll connect and build towards Life-on-Life relationships with mentors.
Community
We believe that as the body we have been commissioned to go and bring the kingdom of God to every corner and watch as heaven invades. We believe in seeing communities restored
Chicago City Life Center
“To reach people of all walks of life. We go to the community right where they are: whether it’s the streets, homeless shelters or prison. It doesn’t matter what they might be going through, people struggling with addictions, homelessness, mental disabilities, and unemployment are not only welcome – but are sought after. We share the love of Jesus with everyone.”
What We Do
Our liaison will help you get connected in the specific area in which you feel led to serve.
Tuesday Night prayer: Every 5th Tuesday of the month we will come alongside, pray, eat a meal, and join in fellowship with Chicago City Life Center.
Friday night street team: join the team as we provide a meal for our brothers and sisters on the streets of Chicago. Join us for a time of prayer and relationship building. The hope is to see hope restored and revival break out in our city.
